# Mailing lists and Forum

## Django Forum

Django has an [official Forum](https://forum.djangoproject.com) where you can input and ask questions.

There are several categories of discussion including:

- [Using Django](https://forum.djangoproject.com/c/users/6): to ask any question regarding the installation, usage, or
  debugging of Django.
- [Internals](https://forum.djangoproject.com/c/internals/5): for discussion of the development of Django itself.

> Before asking a question about how to contribute, read
> [Contributing to Django](/en/5.1/internals/contributing/). Many frequently asked questions are
> answered there.

In addition, Django has several official mailing lists on Google Groups that
are open to anyone.

## `django-announce`

A (very) low-traffic list for announcing [upcoming security releases](/en/5.1/internals/security/#security-disclosure), new releases of Django, and security advisories.

## `django-updates`

All the ticket updates are mailed automatically to this list, which is tracked
by developers and interested community members.

## Archived mailing lists

The following mailing lists are archived and no longer active. These are still
available as a historical resource.

This was used for questions regarding the installation, usage, or debugging of
