These can make installation and upgrading\nmuch easier for users of Django since the integration includes the ability to\nautomatically install dependencies (like database adapters) that Django\nrequires.
\n
Typically, these packages are based on the latest stable release of Django, so\nif you want to use the development version of Django you’ll need to follow the\ninstructions for installing the development version from our Git repository.
\n
If you’re using Linux or a Unix installation, such as OpenSolaris,\ncheck with your distributor to see if they already package Django. If\nyou’re using a Linux distro and don’t know how to find out if a package\nis available, then now is a good time to learn. The Django Wiki contains\na list of Third Party Distributions to help you out.
\n
\n
For distributorsLink to this heading#
\n
If you’d like to package Django for distribution, we’d be happy to help out!\nPlease join the django-developers mailing list and introduce yourself.
\n
We also encourage all distributors to subscribe to the django-announce mailing\nlist, which is a (very) low-traffic list for announcing new releases of Django\nand important bugfixes.
\n
","rootId":"third-party-distributions-of-django","toc":[{"title":"For distributors","anchor":"for-distributors","children":[]}],"breadcrumbs":[{"docname":"misc/index","title":"Meta-documentation and miscellany","url":"/en/1.10/misc/"}],"prev":{"docname":"misc/design-philosophies","title":"Design philosophies","url":"/en/1.10/misc/design-philosophies/"},"next":{"docname":"glossary","title":"Glossary","url":"/en/1.10/glossary/"},"formats":{"html":"/en/1.10/misc/distributions/","markdown":"/en/1.10/misc/distributions.md","json":"/en/1.10/misc/distributions.json"},"source":"https://github.com/django/django/blob/stable/1.10.x/docs/misc/distributions.txt","official":"https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.10/misc/distributions/","inVersions":["dev","6.1","6.0","5.2","5.1","5.0","4.2","4.1","4.0","3.2","3.1","3.0","2.2","2.1","2.0","1.11","1.10","1.9","1.8"],"inLocales":["en","fr","ja","id","pt-br","es","el","pl"]}
